গত সোমবার সিলেট কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একদল শিক্ষার্থী(রোমান,আবির,মাহমুদুল,সাদিক)একটি অসুস্থ শালিক পাখি উদ্ধার করে প্রাধিকারের রেসকিউ টিমের কাছে হস্তান্তর করে।
উপস্থিত শিক্ষার্থী রোমান জানায়- রাজনীতি চত্বরে বিকেলবেলা আড্ডা দেওয়ার সময় শালিক পাখিটি পানির ট্যাংকে নিচে পড়ে থাকতে দেখে ।পরে তাৎক্ষনিক ভাবে পাখিটিকে উদ্ধার করে উড়ানোর চেষ্টা করলে পাখিটি উড়তে ব্যর্থ হয় ।তাছাড়া বড় ধরনের কোন ইনজুরি ছিল না।পরে তারা প্রাধিকারের সদস্যদের জানায়।
একদিন প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার পর, আজ মঙ্গলবার শালিক পাখিটিকে প্রকৃতিক পরিবেশে অবমুক্ত করা হয়।
উল্লেখ্য, শালিক, দোয়েল, টিয়া, ময়না আমাদের প্রকৃতির অংশ। এরা যাতে হারিয়ে না যায়। এসব পাখি বিক্রি করা দন্ডনীয় অপরাধ। তাই কেউ বিক্রি করলে পুলিশে ধরিয়ে দিন এবং পাখিগুলো আকাশে ছেড়ে দিন। কোথাও এমন পাখি বিক্রি করতে দেখলে প্রমাণ সহ পুলিশে জানান বা আমাদের ম্যাসেজ দিন।
